Smart Stat: £38.81 - David Elsworth's profit to a £1 level stake when having one runner at a flat meeting
David Elsworth hasn’t had many runners this winter, but the ones that have been out have been running well, and Redemptive faces an easier task than last time here able to compete in this 0-65. She doesn’t seem to be progressing, but she is running consistently well, and looks up to winning a race of this nature. A wide draw isn’t ideal, but Redemptive seems tactically versatile and should give a good account.
Smart Stat: 24% - Archie Watson's strike rate at LINGFIELD PARK since the start of the 2015 season
Favori Royal is already gelded, and made an unpromising start to his career when not showing anything on debut at Southwell last time, but there is reason to think he is capable of much better. He was an expensive purchase at the Breeze-Ups last year, hails from a good family and is in very capable hands. This doesn’t look the strongest race of its type and, with this extra furlong sure to suit, he could leave his debut form well behind switched to polytrack.
Smart Stat: £13.00 - Sir Mark Prescott Bt's profit to a £1 level stake with horses off for over a year
Awesome Gal didn’t pull up any trees when trained by W. P. Browne in Ireland, but there is reason to think she is capable of better having joined a much respected yard ahead of her British debut. It is interesting that she is immediately stepped up to two miles, given she has plenty of stamina in her pedigree – closely related to useful 15f winner Awesome Star (by Sea The Stars) – and she is worth chancing from a basement mark for a yard that can get them ready after a lay-off.
