Master Malcolm was disappointing on his penultimate start at Fontwell - when bidding to win that race for the second year in succession - but, with blinkers replacing cheekpieces, he bounced back to form with a good second over this course and distance last month. Master Malcolm was no match for the four-length winner Concetto, but he pulled ten lengths clear of the third and that form looks stronger now than it did at the time, with the winner and third both scoring since. Master Malcolm has been nudged up just 1 lb and looks to hold strong claims around a course and distance he is suited by (he was also third here in December).
