Lucky Fifteen failed to make much of an impression in three starts in maiden/ novice company as a juvenile last season, but he offered plenty of encouragement when runner-up on his handicap debut on his return at Newbury last month, unsurprisingly relishing the step up in trip to a mile and a quarter. Lucky Fifteen was unlucky to bump into a much-improved rival at Newbury, but he proved best of the rest in a race full of unexposed sorts, despite still not looking like the finished article. Lucky Fifteen, who cost 200,000 guineas as a yearling and is stoutly bred, remains capable of better so a 3 lb rise in the weights for his latest effort shouldn't prevent a bold bid.
