Paddington is a typically well-bred colt for these connections and took a big step forward from his debut when winning a soft-ground maiden over this distance at the Curragh in October. He was easy to back but there was plenty to like about his performance, always travelling well and displaying a good turn of foot in the closing stages to forge five lengths clear of the runner-up. It was a notable closing sectional on the clock, too, and he has the potential to prove this opening mark of 97 a lenient one. Paddington has multiple Group 1 entries and may be a class above these.
