Tyger Bay demonstrated his effectiveness over this course and distance when posting a decisive two-and-a-half-length success here in June. He struggled off higher marks on his next few starts but he was cut some slack by the handicapper and returned to form with third-place finishes at Catterick and Kempton. The Kempton effort was especially encouraging as it came in a stronger race than the one he contests here. He is able to race off the same mark as he did at Catterick and Kempton, which means he is only 1 lb higher than when a commanding winner over this course and distance in June.

Perdika proved much sharper with her debut effort under her belt and she scored in ready style at Wolverhampton on her second start. Perdika then won under a penalty at Southwell and raised her game again to defy a double penalty at Chelmsford last month to complete the hat-trick. Based on what she showed at Chelmsford an opening BHA mark of 85 might not be enough to stop this progressive filly who has shown run-by-run improvement on Timeform's figures.
