Park Annonciade didn't build on the promise of his Rules debut in bumpers, but he has made a promising start over hurdles, finishing runner-up on his debut in this sphere at Sligo and going one place better when last seen over this course and distance at the beginning of August. Admittedly, it wasn't a strong race that he won, and he didn't need to improve to do so, but he arrives with potential now making his handicap debut, and represents a yard that do well with their runners at this track.

Strawman hasn't won for over two years, his last win coming over this course and distance in June 2021, but he has taken some positive steps back in the right direction of late, and looks ready to strike again. He did well to finish as close as he did over a mile and a half at Thirsk earlier this month, not best suited by being held up in a modestly-run race. The return to this venue will be in his favour and he remains 4 lb below his last winning mark, so will remain of interest.
