Bannow Bay Boy was in need of the experience on his Rules debut in a bumper at Ascot in October and he has been shaping up well switched to hurdles since, showing a little improvement in each of his three starts. He shaped well dropped to two miles in a strong-looking race on handicap debut at Hereford last time, looking a little outpaced when the tempo quickened but keeping on well in the closing stages. He now goes in a first-time tongue tie and looks to have been well placed here, so it is worth keeping the faith with him.

Your Own Story's consistency over fences is hard to knock and he deservedly opened his account over two and three quarter miles at Wetherby last time, relishing the step up in trip and looking like a horse to keep on the right side. He forged clear in the closing stages, suggesting that a subsequent 7 lb rise may not be enough to stop him, especially kept to this sort of distance, and he is strongly fancied to follow up for a yard that continue in good form.
