Hortzadar returned to form with a comfortable victory over this course and distance last time, finally taking advantage of his reduced mark as he asserted late on to land the spoils by a length. He perhaps isn’t an obvious type to follow up considering that was his first win since April 2022, but he retains plenty of handicapping scope up 3 lb and there should be more races to be won with him at this lowly level if he can hold his form together.

El Tesoro shaped better than the bare result when finishing sixth on his first outing for Joseph Parr at Southwell a few weeks ago, looking competitive for a long way before weakening out of the frame. The way he shaped there suggests he's likely to be suited by the drop back to the minimum trip today, while he's entitled to strip fitter with that first run for three months under his belt, too. A winner on the polytrack at Dundalk when trained in Ireland by Donnacha O'Brien, El Tesoro has been dropped 3 lb in the weights since his encouraging debut on British soil and he's very much one to be interested in for his in-form yard (70% of horses running to form).
