Cancan In The Rain was disappointing in a six-furlong handicap here on his final start as a juvenile, but he was unsuited by the drop in trip having won a novice over this course and distance on his previous outing. Cancan In The Rain saw this trip out thoroughly on that occasion and will be suited by the return to seven furlongs here. He appeals as being on a fair mark on his first start for Charlie Johnston (previously trained by Chris Dwyer).

Notturno had an unfavourable draw to contend with when only fifth at Roscommon ten days ago and, having been forced wide on the home turn, he probably did well to get as close as he did in the end. He had run well when runner-up at Sligo on his penultimate outing, impressing with how he moved into contention, and he appeals as being well treated off the same mark. He represents trainer Noel Meade who has his string in good form at present.
