Sakti shaped with plenty of promise on debut at Leopardstown in July but she looked a bit green under pressure and had to settle for second behind the more experienced Brilliant, who she renews rivalry with here. Sakti duly showed improved form to finish runner-up to subsequent Moyglare runner-up Vespertilio in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes at the Curragh last month, sticking to her task well to pull two and three-quarter lengths clear of the third. That is the best piece of form on offer here and Sakti remains with plenty of potential after only a couple of starts so she stands out as the one to beat.

Alien Storm made a successful start over hurdles when scoring with plenty in hand over this course and distance on his hurdling debut last October and he then showed even better form in defeat under a penalty at Kempton, pulling clear with a useful rival who was in receipt of 7 lb. Alien Storm disappointed on his next couple of outings but was back in form on his final outing of the season and signed off with a solid second in a decent novice event for the time of year. He looks to be on a fair handicap mark based on the pick of his novice form and is clearly effective over this course and distance, so he should launch a bold bid for Charlie Longsdon whose horses often hit the ground running in the autumn.
