Gerri Colombe is yet to taste defeat in seven career starts (first one came in a point) and he has quickly developed into a very smart novice chaser, taking the step up to Grade 1 level in his stride when winning the Faugheen Novices' Chase at Limerick over Christmas. His assured jumping will continue to stand him in good stead and it is interesting his trainer sends him over for this challenge. The form he has in the bag is much superior to any of these rivals and he is strongly fancied to extend his winning run.

This is a cracking renewal of the Irish Arkle and Appreciate It makes plenty of appeal having created an excellent impression over fences in his two starts so far. Admittedly, he hasn't had much to beat (started at odds of 1/5 and 1/9) but the manner of those victories mark him out as one of the best seen in this division so far this season and he is more than ready for this step up to Grade 1 level. Appreciate It is open to significant improvement as a chaser and looks a strong favourite.
