There are plenty of familiar faces on show here but Ga Law is potentially better than a handicapper and can make his class tell off top weight. He shaped well in the Old Roan on return from a 20-month absence and built on that effort in no uncertain terms when winning the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham last time, beating another well-handicapped sort in good style. Ga Law has been given a nice break since and that form has worked out well, so he is expected to defy an 8 lb rise before having his sights raised further. 

Pembroke - 15:35 Cheltenham

This looks a competitive renewal of this Grade 2 but Pembroke has created an excellent impression over hurdles and can progress further to take this step up in grade in his stride. He shaped well on his debut in this sphere in a race which has worked out incredibly well and has improved to win his last two starts, creating a striking visual impression at Ludlow last time which was backed up by the clock. He moves up in trip now but that shouldn't pose a problem and he can put his name in the mix for one of the novice hurdles at the Cheltenham Festival with another win.
