Yorksea was fair on the Flat in France but he has quickly developed into a much better hurdler for these connections, building on last season's form when producing a career best to resume winning ways at Fontwell on Boxing Day, and shaping much better than the bare result when fourth in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury last time. He was caught too far back on that occasion but caught the eye in the closing stages, leaving the impression he has even more to offer. Yorksea is a horse to keep on side now racing from the same mark.

Iron Bridge was strong in the betting and looked a smart prospect when making a winning start over fences at Carlisle in October and he quickly bounced back from a lesser effort next time when resuming winning ways at Haydock. He was left with nothing to beat that day as his sole rival was pulled up, but he again shaped well in a competitive event at Warwick last time over an inadequate two and a half miles. Iron Bridge strongly left the impression that he would be much happier back at three miles and he should have conditions in his favour today. He remains a well-handicapped horse.
