Mother Margaret is bred to be useful and she started favourite for his debut in a newcomers' event at Newbury in April. She produced a promising first effort, too, even if she couldn't withstand the late thrust of the winner after having the run of the race. That race was run in heavy ground, but she will likely be seen to better effect now on a sounder surface and that experience is unlikely to be lost on her.

Eminency was progressive last season and very much caught the eye when well backed on his return at Kempton in April, shaping much better than the bare result after suffering trouble in-running on more than one occasion. He also shaped well in a stronger handicap at Newmarket last time, a little too keen in the early stages but staying on all the way to the line, leaving the impression he is on a good mark. Eminency is now back at the venue of his sole success and he is a sprinter to keep on the right side moving forward.
