Sa Fureur confirmed the promise of his hurdling debut when getting off the mark at this course two weeks ago, asserting before the last and responding well from there to win by four and three-quarter lengths in dominant fashion. This will be tougher given that he's tasked with conceding weight all round, but he is very much the type to go on improving, particularly as his stamina is drawn out further. He will relish the step up to two and a half miles here and should mount a bold bid to make it two from three over hurdles.

Only The Bold proved a different proposition when fitted with first-time cheekpieces and a tongue strap for his chasing debut at Bangor in November, drawing clear from three out to win by nine lengths with any amount in hand. That was also his first start for David Pipe (formerly trained by Evan Williams) and the stamina he showed there suggests the longer trip today won't be an issue. A 10 lb hike in the weights will make life harder, but he is sure to progress over fences and remains very much one to keep on the right side in his follow-up bid.
