Maimie's Magic had no money behind her in the market but she made a winning handicap debut at Kelso in December, showing much improved form to open her account from 3 lb out of the handicap, looking a strong stayer, but she took another step forward when following up dropped back in trip at Newcastle last time. She also overcame a positional bias on that occasion, so a subsequent 5 lb rise looks lenient, and she is a strong fancy to complete a hat-trick, especially as she will relish this step back up in trip.

Ivetwiggedit didn't show much for Ben Pauling last season, but she has proved a different proposition for this yard upon entering handicaps, winning all three of her starts, and all of them have come under this rider. She was still travelling strongly when left in front two from home, and won with much more in hand than the official margin suggests given how easily her ride took things in the closing stages. Another 7 lb rise may not be enough to prevent the four-timer and she remains a horse to be very positive about.
