Rainyday Woman showed useful form to complete the hat-trick in a listed mares novice at Taunton last month, coping fine with the drop back in trip as she made all to win by three lengths in comfortable fashion. That form identifies her as the one to beat on these terms and the small 'p' attached to her Timeform rating denotes that she is open to more improvement. A likeable type, Rainyday Woman rates a confident selection to register her fourth victory in a row for Paul Nicholls, who has his team in good heart at present (67% of horses running to form).

Nell's Bells took a big step forward after 11 months off to get off the mark at the second attempt at Carlisle six weeks ago, hitting the front entering the final two furlongs before powering clear to land the spoils by 17 lengths. That was a fairly useful performance and Nell's Bells might not have to improve to take the step up in grade in her stride here. Her pedigree is an ongoing recommendation (by Milan out of an unraced half-sister to the top-class hurdler Peddlers Cross) and the fine form of the Donald McCain yard also gives cause for optimism (65% of horses running to form).
