Regal Renaissance caught the eye when fourth on her final qualifying run at Ludlow last month, shaping much better than she had previously as she passed the post around 10 lengths behind the winner (not knocked about). She now makes the switch to handicaps and is very much one to be interested in from a BHA mark of 96. That looks a fair starting point to life in this sphere and the small 'p' attached to her Timeform rating denotes that she is likely to go on improving.

Shakem Up'arry shaped very well by the end when last seen finishing third in the Red Rum Handicap Chase at Aintree in April, getting caught a long way back before staying on strongly from two out to make up several places and snatch a place. The way he shaped there suggests the longer trip today is well worth another try and this is the weakest race he has contested since winning from only 3 lb lower at Haydock last December when ridden by today's pilot Luca Morgan. Trained by Ben Pauling, who has his team in rude health (72% of horses running to form), Shakem Up'arry could be worth another chance to resume winning ways now fitted with a first-time tongue strap after eight months off.
