followed up his win in this 12 months earlier with an even better effort, turning the tables on Tower of London from Meydan in no uncertain terms; waited with, smooth progress 3f out, produced to lead 2f out, asserted over 1f out, ridden out.

put his disappointing Melbourne Cup effort behind him after 6 months off, in the end leaving the impression the outing could have done him some good, moving through the race almost as well as Giavellotto for a long way but unable to stay on as strongly as that one; disputed lead early, remained prominent, went on under 3f out, headed 2f out, left behind by winner; he's got an entry in the Gold Cup but, whilst it can be a very risky business being negative about horses from this yard, he's never really shaped as though as an out and out test is what he'd relish.

made an encouraging return from 8 months off and remains with potential after 6 career starts, sure to be better faced with still longer distances given the way he shapes; patiently ridden, not quicken under 3f out, headway under pressure over 1f out, stuck to task; he'll be suited by 2m+ and, not surprisingly, his price for the Gold Cup shortened after this, though he does still have a lot of improving to do if he's master an on-song Kyprios or, for that matter, the 2023 winner Courage Mon Ami.

disappointed, later found to have lost a shoe but hard to know whether that was the reason why or not, more likely he just wasn't at his best as a result of his travelling earlier in the year and that he'll bounce back before much longer; dwelt, held up, smooth headway over 3f out, shaken up soon after, found little.
