gained a seventh successive win, the last 5 at Group 1 level, likely she will bid to make the Arc number 6, and although her form is a little shy of what will likely be required in that, this was arguably a career best, coping well with a falsely-run affair, while her main asset, her attitude, is very hard to fault and likely to stand her in good stead come October, while it's also worth noting she beat the reigning Arc winner at Hoppergarten this time last year the only time they've met; tracked pace, shaken up early in straight, led over 2f out, ridden, kept on well final 1f, always holding on, showed a good attitude.

wasted no time getting back to form, pushing the winner hard and running at least as well as when winning the Oaks; in touch, effort over 3f out, chased leader approaching final 1f, kept on well; she's in every good race at 1m+, bar the Arc, another Group 1 against her own sex likely offering the best chance of further top-level success, this trip suiting her better than 1m.

couldn't extend her winning sequence to 5, but ran up to her best in a tougher Group 1 than she'd won last time, albeit having the run of things and in a race where speed mattered more than stamina; close up, took keen hold, led after 2f, shaken up 3f out, headed over 2f out, not quicken final 1f.

ran creditably, showing herself effective at the 2f longer trip, another who might have been helped by a truer gallop, the Fillies & Mares at Ascot offering her a chance to better this effort; held up, shaken up over 4f out, not quicken, kept on after 2f out, never on terms.

had won a substandard Irish Oaks and ran about as well in defeat here, taking on older rivals, as she had in victory at the Curragh, that despite the lack of pace not really bringing her stamina into play; led 2f, remained prominent, ridden 4f out, left behind 2f out; she'd be well worth a try over further.

ran about as well as could have been expected upped in grade, lacking the pace and the ability to land a blow once the tempo finally lifted; waited with, shaken up over 3f out, left behind 2f out; she's a surprisingly ordinary-looking filly, given her pedigree.

upped in trip, didn't settle any better in a first-time hood and wasn't able to run up to her best as a result; slowly into stride, held up, not settle fully, shaken up over 4f out, left behind over 2f out; she's on the weak side still and looks the type that might make a better 4-y-o, given the chance.

A running of the Yorkshire Oaks that lacked an outstanding filly, an Enable or a Love, to name but 2 recent examples, but it still featured 4 runners that had won a Group 1 this year, a representative contest between the generations; given that it was run at a steady gallop until early in the straight, it might be expected that the form might be muddling, but the field finished in form order, more or less, and only Lilac Road prevented the field finishing in starting price order as well, the form looking deceptively straightforward to assess, a bit below the standard for the race.

ALPINISTA gained a seventh successive win, the last 5 at Group 1 level, likely she will bid to make the Arc number 6, and although her form is a little shy of what will likely be required in that, this was arguably a career best, coping well with a falsely-run affair, while her main asset, her attitude, is very hard to fault and likely to stand her in good stead come October, while it's also worth noting she beat the reigning Arc winner at Hoppergarten this time last year the only time they've met; tracked pace, shaken up early in straight, led over 2f out, ridden, kept on well final 1f, always holding on, showed a good attitude.
