confirmed once again how effective he is since fitted with a hood faced with a well-run 6f, partnered by Ryan Moore for the first time and following up his Newmarket win, recording the sort of performance that suggests he wouldn't have been out of place in next week's Commonwealth Cup; patiently ridden, travelled well, pushed along 2f out, headway over 1f out, led inside final 1f, forged clear.

A typically well-contested renewal of this long-standing valuable 3-y-o sprint handicap and every reason to think it will work out, one from each wing filling the first 2 places, Harry Three improving sufficiently to suggest a future beyond handicaps for him at some stage.

HARRY THREE confirmed once again how effective he is since fitted with a hood faced with a well-run 6f, partnered by Ryan Moore for the first time and following up his Newmarket win, recording the sort of performance that suggests he wouldn't have been out of place in next week's Commonwealth Cup; patiently ridden, travelled well, pushed along 2f out, headway over 1f out, led inside final 1f, forged clear.

LUCKY MAN (IRE) back on firmer ground after 5 weeks off, got back on the up, quickly putting to bed the theory that he might be only an all-weather horse; mid-field, pushed along before halfway, headway 2f out, ran on.

DEVASTE again ran creditably, the only one of the 3 reopposing from his Leicester win last time to give their running; slowly into stride, held up, ridden over 2f out, headway over 1f out, ran on.

LETHAL LEVI again ran well, just finding the 4 lb higher mark in a much better race than last time anchoring him; chased leaders, pushed along halfway, every chance inside final 1f, one paced.

ANNAF (IRE) back down in trip, again ran creditably and is holding his form well; mid-field, pushed along over 2f out, one paced.

ADMIRAL D (IRE) ran creditably without necessarily convincing that the drop in trip played to his strengths and he'll be worth another try at 7f at some stage; held up, pushed along before halfway, one paced.

EDWARD CORNELIUS (IRE) wasn't disgraced back in a handicap, doing enough to suggest he's effective over this far; mid-field, pushed along halfway, edged right over 1f out, ran on.

AMBER DEW shaped better than the bare result, cutting out the running in such a strong handicap for a long way; disputed lead, went on halfway, pushed along 2f out, headed inside final 1f, no extra final 100 yds; she'll be worth trying back at 5f.

ATOMIC LADY (FR) looked potentially well treated on her sales race effort over C&D at the Ebor meeting (splitting smart rivals Ever Given and Wings of War) but she was below form after 10 months off; chased leaders, pushed along halfway, one paced.

ANOTHER INVESTMENT (IRE) had finished just behind the fourth at Haydock last time but failed to repeat that effort in this stronger company; held up, pushed along before halfway, late headway.

INGRA TOR (IRE) was a strong favourite on the back of his defeat of the winner in a similar event at the Guineas meeting but just wasn't in the same form 6 weeks on, excuses hard to find; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out; he perhaps just had an off day, as the winner's effort here showed there's little wrong with the form of his most recent win.

SELBY'S PRIDE was below form in first-time cheekpieces back up in grade; chased leaders, pushed along before halfway, hung left over 1f out, weakened.

WATCHYA failed to repeat last effort back on turf, it increasingly looking the case that he's more effective on all-weather; chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened.

VINTAGE CLARETS continues out of sorts, but put himself firmly on the back foot at the start; reared leaving stalls, held up, pushed along over 2f out, not quicken.

RESILIENCE back up in trip, was below form; disputed lead, pushed along over 2f out, hung left, weakened over 1f out.

BAY BREEZE wasn't in the same form as last time; held up, pushed along over 2f out, weakened over 1f out.

ROACH POWER (IRE) ran poorly; mid-field, pushed along before halfway, weakened over 1f out.

SHOWTIME MAHOMES whose form last time is proving strong (second, third and fifth among those in behind to win next time), just wasn't in the same form on this occasion; mid-field, pushed along halfway, weakened 2f out.

GISBURN (IRE) had finished just behind the third at Leicester last week but failed to repeat that effort on this firmer surface (connections blaming the ground, having also proved disappointing in similar conditions in the Coventry last year); dwelt, held up, pushed along halfway, beaten long way out.
