has done well physically from 2 to 3 and, upped to a trip more in keeping with her pedigree after 7 months off, duly proved a different proposition, albeit aided by the run of the race; dictated, shaken up around 2f out, forged clear; will stay 1½m and was well on top here regardless of any tactical advantage, but quotes of between 4/1 and 6/1 for the Oaks still look an overreaction, around half a stone shy of what's required to win an average renewal and unlikely to get her own way to the same extent at Epsom.

brought an upwardly-mobile profile into this higher grade, as well as a top-notch pedigree, so that she was unable to raise her game in line with market expectations makes this slightly underwhelming; in touch, headway 3f out, effort around 2f out and had every chance soon after, left behind by winner final 1f; she holds entries in the Oaks and the Ribblesdale, but the latter looks the better option on the back of this.

making turf debut after 6 months off, found this coming too soon in her development, too free in the early stages and paying the price late on; dwelt, waited with, pulled hard, good headway over 3f out, shaken up around 2f out, ran green/wandered a bit, effort flattened out; she hammered one who has since improved appreciably on second start at 2 yrs and remains capable of better herself, likely to be more tractable with this reappearance/added experience under her belt.

ran respectably upped in grade, but proved vulnerable to less-exposed sorts, a theme that is likely to continue as the season progresses, lack of scope (compact filly) counting against her; chased leader, pushed along 3f out, every chance 2f out, one paced.

upped in trip after 6 months off, had plenty on her plate fast-tracked to pattern company and ran about as well as could be expected in the circumstances, especially as she was keener than ideal in mid-field, left behind from 2f out; she's still learning the ropes and may do better still.

upped in trip she isn't certain to stay, but that made no difference on the day, essentially just outclassed; reared leaving stalls, always behind; will be hard to place, not up to this level whilst a BHA mark in the high 80s looks harsh.

Not so informative a Musidora as looked likely beforehand, both of the lightly-raced pair who dominated the market rather disappointing, leaving the door open for one who was allowed the run of the race, Snowfall impressive on the day but unlikely to get such a favourable set of circumstances next time.

SNOWFALL (JPN) has done well physically from 2 to 3 and, upped to a trip more in keeping with her pedigree after 7 months off, duly proved a different proposition, albeit aided by the run of the race; dictated, shaken up around 2f out, forged clear; will stay 1½m and was well on top here regardless of any tactical advantage, but quotes of between 4/1 and 6/1 for the Oaks still look an overreaction, around half a stone shy of what's required to win an average renewal and unlikely to get her own way to the same extent at Epsom.
