well backed with De Sousa back on board after 5 weeks off, showed improved form to open his account at this level at the second attempt, seeing out this extra 1f thoroughly; chased leader, loomed up 2f out, produced to lead soon after, kept on well; likeable type who had a bit in hand here, he'll go on improving.

back on softer ground and sporting first-time tongue strap after 6 weeks off, got back on track following dismal reappearance, albeit with the run of the race; dictated, shaken up under 3f out, headed under 2f out, kept on; progression at 1m looks to have maxed out, so he's worth another try at 1¼m.

found run of good form coming to a halt, hard to blame the ground given he finished second under similar conditions in a Group 3 last year; mid-field, effort over 2f out, carried head bit awkwardly/wandered, not quicken; a tough sort, he's the type to bounce back quickly.

produced a laboured effort, in trouble before the trip became an issue; waited with, ridden early in straight, carried head bit awkwardly, plugged on; is ideally suited by a bigger field/stronger gallop at a shorter trip, but has something to prove on the back of this in any case.

back on ground softer than good for first time since winning debut, failed to back up dubious latest effort and needs sights lowering; slowly into stride, in rear, left behind from 2f out.

A weak listed race, especially with both standard-setting older horses failing to fire, one of the 3-y-os in the line up finding a bit of progression to score; the gallop was on the steady side.
