More runners than usual for a strong renewal of the Yorkshire Oaks and the race lived up to expectations, the 3 that headed the market pulling clear in what was a well-run race, and although there were a few disappointments further back it's strong middle-distance form at the front end.

SEVENTH HEAVEN (IRE) has had a tremendous season, beaten only once, highly progressive, improving further still here from her Irish Oaks win 5 weeks ago, just as emphatic in this deeper Group 1, going about in similar style on the firmest ground she's encountered; held up, headway under pressure 3f out, kept responding to lead approaching final 1f and stayed on strongly; wherever she goes next Seventh Heaven is definitely a filly that'll be winning more Group 1s, at least the equal of her stable-comapanion Minding on this evidence.

FOUND (IRE) wasn't at her very best but put up yet another good placed effort in Group 1 company, no match on the day for her winning stablemate, but her trainer did say beforehand that she was likely to come on for the run after a 9-week break and she shaped as if that might well be the case; held up, travelled strongly, good headway 3f out and looked threatening, slightly short of room and switched around 2f out, ran on; she was second to Golden Horn in the Irish Champion Stakes in 2015 and is likely to head for that and run another big race in a few weeks time.

QUEEN'S TRUST may not have won yet in her 3-y-o season but has made excellent progress, highly tried all along, and this is an improvement on her second to Minding in the Nassau; in touch, travelled well, close up 3f out, led around 2f out, headed approaching final 1f, one paced, pulled clear of remainder; in the short term it would be no surprise to see her eased in grade slightly to pick up a pattern race and the suspicion is that she still has an even better performance in the locker.

PRETTY PERFECT (IRE) was one of the lowest rated fillies in the field and ran right up to form after flopping in the Irish Oaks; led, pushed along over 3f out, headed 2f out, left behind, no match for principals.

TURRET ROCKS (IRE) is doing little wrong at present, this another creditable effort and a return to her 2-y-o form, but she's very unlikely to ever win a Group 1, too highly tried; dropped out, headway 3f out, in touch 2f out, one paced; an ease in trip and grade will help.

FURIA CRUZADA (CHI) was possibly unsuited by conditions, firmer than she's proven under, though her performance and that of several others in this race doesn't reflect well on the form of the Lancashire Oaks; mid-division, headway under pressure 3f out, chased leaders briefly, weakened over 1f out.

EVEN SONG (IRE) has disappointed since winning the Ribblesdale, her response to pressure most underwhelming both last time and here, something perhaps not right with her; prominent, travelled better than most, threatened 3f out but found less than looked likely; this was the firmest ground she's encountered but the way she went through the race suggests that wasn't a problem.

LOVING THINGS was flying too high in this grade and didn't help herself by not settling early; took strong hold, settled mid-field, lost place early in straight, made little impression.

ENDLESS TIME (IRE) was worth a try at the highest level having climbed through the ranks but clearly wasn't 100% on the day; tracked pace, pushed along 4f out, weakened 2f out, eased off, something not right.

KOORA faced her stiffest task yet but can't have been right on the day; in rear, driven over 2f out, weakened, made no impression but was spared a hard race once beaten.

HARLEQUEEN was well held and is probably ready for a break after some hard races; prominent, lost place 3f out, soon beaten, eased off.

FIREGLOW ran too badly to be true, seeming amiss; chased leaders, off the bridle long way out, lost place early in straight, first beaten.
