Probably not a stellar renewal of this fillies listed race with the 3-y-os by-and-large failing to land much of a blow, the pair at the head of the betting finding the emphasis too much on speed with the evetual third having been allowed to set a modest pace, the front pair worth plenty of credit having both raced towards the rear.

SOUND ANGELA who attracted support for a yard with a solid record in this race, didn't need to improve to end a winless run of over 2 years (lightly raced), though is worth extra credit having overcome the run of the race; dwelt, waited with, steady headway out wide from 3f out, edged left over 1f out, led inside final 1f, kept going well; seemingly back to her best this year and fresher than most she'll meet over the coming weeks, she'll remain of interest, already proven on all-weather surfaces.

NAOMI LAPAGLIA remains winless this season but continues to shape encouragingly and it seems only a matter of time before she scores at this sort of level, easy to back here but unsurprisingly well suited by the step up in trip, following the winner through but always up against it from so far back the way the race developed; held up, took keen hold, going well when not clear run 2f out, switched over 1f out, headway soon after, stayed on final 1f.

HIGH SPIRITED (IRE) ran at least as well in defeat as when winning in this grade the time before, running a similar race having again managed to get away on terms but picked off by a couple who finished off well; soon led, travelled well, shaken up 2f out, quickened clear briefly, headed inside final 1f, no extra.

MOLTEN ROCK (IRE) was better placed than most and backed up the improvement she had seemingly found in Germany last time; prominent, took strong hold, outpaced briefly under 3f out, rallied 2f out, every chance after, no extra final 100 yds.

LADY BOBA was back at a more realistic level but found the emphasis too much on speed kept to this trip, worth noting her 2 wins have come on much softer ground, too; mid-division, headway under pressure 2f out, not quicken final 1f.

REGAL JUBILEE after 11 weeks off, wasted no time getting back on track returned to this trip, for all a stronger pace is likely to have suited better; waited with, not quicken 2f out, kept on gradually final 1f, never dangerous; she's up to winning a similar event granted more favourable circumstances.

ESTRANGE (IRE) an impressive winner on debut, failed to improve right away but it's still been a most positive start to her career, not seen to best effect here and lacking a little for a change of gear on firmer ground; mid-division, not clear run over 2f out, headway when switched over 1f out, one paced; remains open to improvement.

AL ANOUD (FR) easy to back in first-time cheekpieces, wasn't seen to best effect tried in a higher grade; mid-division, effort when short of room over 2f out, switched over 1f out, kept on, never a threat.

KARMOLOGY strong in the betting, disappointed for probably the first time in her career, though it's easy enough to excuse, not at all suited by the run of the race; raced wide, mid-division, lost place before halfway, shaken up over 4f out, laboured headway 3f out, outpaced 2f out, keeping on when edged left final 1f.

DORA MILAJE (IRE) continued to be tried in this grade without really threatening; in rear, not clear run from 3f out, got gap approaching final 1f, made no impression.

MAKING DREAMS (IRE) ought to have found it easier in this grade 4 months on from doing too much in front in the Oaks, but was weak in the betting and ultimately fared little better despite the aid of a good position, the run possibly needed, while it's also looking more the case that she's most effective on much softer ground than this; prominent, took keen hold, weakened over 1f out.

TEN DIMES was sent off a big price in first-time cheekpieces and unsurprisingly found it too competitive, again not looking altogether straightforward; slowly into stride, raced off the pace, raced freely, outpaced 2f out, made no impression.

SEA JUST IN TIME (IRE) flopped for the second time in as many starts in this grade; chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened after.

OH SO GRAND was sent off a much bigger price than when down the field in the race won by High Spirited and ran even worse this time; prominent, weakened 2f out, reportedly bled.
