proved better than ever after 2 months off, his rider judging matters well in front; led, took keen hold, ridden over 1f out, kept on well final 1f, pushed out; he'll be off his highest-ever mark once he's reassessed (or under a penalty) and it's likely more will be required to win again.

A useful handicap, open rather than especially competitive, the below-par showing of the favourite, the one obvious potential improver, detracting from its strength as a piece of form.

GLOBAL ESTEEM (IRE) proved better than ever after 2 months off, his rider judging matters well in front; led, took keen hold, ridden over 1f out, kept on well final 1f, pushed out; he'll be off his highest-ever mark once he's reassessed (or under a penalty) and it's likely more will be required to win again.

MAXI BOY continues to run well, kept busy, this right up with his best efforts of the year, the third time in 8 handicap starts that he's been beaten ½ length or less, though yet to win one; chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, every chance 1f out, kept on.

CORVAIR (IRE) ran one of this season's better races, not a lot wrong with his finishing effort either; held up, headway 3f out, chased leaders approaching final 1f, kept on.

FARHH TO SHY in good form and the one likely improver in the field, failed to meet expectations, a bit keener than ideal early on; soon steadied, not settle fully, effort over 2f out, challenged approaching final 1f, one paced.

EQUITATION ran better than last time, without reaching the level of his season's best; held up, ridden over 2f out, headway over 1f out, effort flattened out, never on terms.

DAZZLING DAN (IRE) was again below form, although running better than last time, back ridden more prominently; close up, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out.

PERCY'S LAD failed to come on for his recent outing; held up, not settle fully, shaken up over 2f out, edged left, made no impression.
