evidently all the better for reappearance, bounced back to best in first-time cheekpieces to get off the mark for new connections; in touch, ridden over 2f out, led 1f out, kept on well, held on gamely; not long with a good yard and still low-mileage for his age, he looks sure to go well again, shaping as if worth another try at 1¼m as well.

wasted no time getting back to form, not much wrong with his effort this time, with first-time blinker presumably helping in that regard, if anything doing quite well in faring best of those held up; in rear, headway 3f out, ridden over 2f out, challenged 1f out, not quicken.

failed to build on the promise of last run, though wasn't ideally placed and left the impression he wasn't seen to best effect over this extra furlong; in rear, ridden over 2f out, headway 1f out, bit short of room and no further impression, not persevered with once held; may yet do better and remains one to bear in mind.

All 9 ran.

Winning Owner: Mr Michael H. Watt

Time: 1m 53.82s

A competitive handicap on paper, and though a cautious view of the form is best taken with the field finishing in a bit of a heap, a few of these will remain of interest looking forward, the winner included.

HEISMAN (IRE) evidently all the better for reappearance, bounced back to best in first-time cheekpieces to get off the mark for new connections; in touch, ridden over 2f out, led 1f out, kept on well, held on gamely; not long with a good yard and still low-mileage for his age, he looks sure to go well again, shaping as if worth another try at 1¼m as well.

BOLD PREDICTION (IRE) ran at least as well as last time, proving once and for all he's just as good on turf; disputed lead, driven over 2f out, rallied last ½f, stuck to task.

EMERALD (ITY) wasted no time getting back to form, not much wrong with his effort this time, with first-time blinker presumably helping in that regard, if anything doing quite well in faring best of those held up; in rear, headway 3f out, ridden over 2f out, challenged 1f out, not quicken.

HAALAN ran well back in handicap company, having every chance; disputed lead, went with zest, shaken up 2f out, headed 1f out, one paced.

LAURENCE has dropped to last winning mark and with his yard back in the winners of late, shaped as if back in form; waited with, smooth headway from 3f out, shaken up under 2f out, every chance final 1f, one paced; one to keep an eye on for similar events.

SOLO HUNTER typically gave running; held up, ridden under 3f out, one paced.

HEATSTROKE (IRE) failed to build on the promise of last run, though wasn't ideally placed and left the impression he wasn't seen to best effect over this extra furlong; in rear, ridden over 2f out, headway 1f out, bit short of room and no further impression, not persevered with once held; may yet do better and remains one to bear in mind.

WHAT SAY YOU (IRE) failed to build on the promise of last run; mid-field, pushed along 3f out, weakened approaching final 1f.

ARTFUL PRINCE fared little better than last time; held up, shaken up under 2f out, weakened final 1f.
