MR BALOO (IRE) under a penalty, merely needed to reproduce the form he showed here 7 days earlier to complete the hat-trick, opening up more options regarding trip; close up, upsides after 3f, headed around halfway, remained prominent in main group as leader went clear, shaken up around 2f out, led final 50 yds; he holds an entry at Southwell in the coming days, but more will be required under a double penalty if he's to maintain his winning streak.

SON OF MAN (IRE) backed up his promising return with another good placed effort, beaten only by a thriving rival; prominent, shaken up 2f out, steady headway straight, kept on; he's capable of winning a similar event in his current vein of form.

WADACRE GOMEZ bounced back to form after a spell in the doldrums, first-time cheekpieces the obvious place to start when looking for a catalyst; mid-field, came wide entering straight, headway when hung left over 1f out, stayed on, nearest at the finish; came from further back than the pair who beat him, but didn't look altogether straightforward so it remains to be seen if headgear continues to have a positive effect.

SILENT AGE (FR) was back at a more suitable level, but merely added further weight to the idea that his development has stalled, the slightly longer trip neither here nor there; in touch, pushed along around 2f out, headway when switched final 1f, ran on.

EAGLE DAY (IRE) proved no more tractable than of late but managed to step up on last couple of efforts, due in part to an enterprising ride; mid-field, switched to outer and pulled way to front around halfway, went around 5/6 lengths clear soon after, ridden 2f out, closed down 1f out, headed final 50 yds, no extra and run out of a place near line.

PERFECTLY TIMED ran respectably from a ratings perspective after 7 months off, but looked ungainly in the process; hampered soon after start, raced freely and led after 1f, joined after 3f, headed around halfway, pushed along 3f out, hung left over 1f out, weakened.

OSLO back down in trip, ran to a similar level to last time; mid-field, not settle fully, pushed along home turn, plugged on.

LORDSBRIDGE BLU proved consistent at 4 yrs, placed in a race that worked out quite well on final start, but hasn't stood much racing and returned lame after 4 months off; prominent, took strong hold, shuffled back halfway, ridden home turn, weakened.

SARI DUBAI (USA) failed to come on for recent run; raced off the pace, driven under 3f out, never a threat.

CHARLIE'S CHOICE shaped as if amiss; in rear, never a threat; was reported post-race to have bled from the nose.
