back down in trip and back in headgear after 7 weeks off, proved at least as good as ever as he recorded a first success since his 3-y-o hat-trick back in 2018, clearly something of a bargain for his new connections, though a superb ride was also a big factor here; dictated, upped tempo over 3f out, kicked clear entering straight, in command entering final 1f, eased close home; he obviously had a fair bit in his favour but is lightly raced for his age and is fairly versatile regards trip.

turned out quickly again, remains in top form, not seen to best effect, his position rather hopeless in terms of catching the well-ridden winner; waited with, outpaced over 3f out, switched out wide home turn, took second 1f out but no impression on winner.

had a better position than most and was probably undone by a rise in the weights as much as anything, effectively 12 lb higher than when winning at Lingfield considering he had a claimer on that day; trapped wide early but soon close up, pushed along 3f out, faded over 1f out.

wasn't disgraced, not the only one to be caught out when the pace lifted; in touch, outpaced over 3f out, faded entering final 1f.

isn't the type to be suited by a tactical race but just looked below his best all the same; in touch, ridden over 3f out, beaten over 1f out.

Another masterclass from Hollie Doyle, who had most of her rivals on the stretch when upping the tempo over 3f out, the runner-up the most inconvenienced by the run of the race having been trapped behind horses turning in.
