defied a 6-lb rise to maintain an unbeaten start for this stable, having the run of things this time and just holding on, therefore likely to have to improve a bigger chunk if he's going to bring up the hat-trick; soon led, quickened 2f out, driven out.

went like the best horse at the weights back from 5 months off, emerging from the pack to split the pair that dominated, though he's not far off 4 years without a win and there have been a few times in that period where an eye-catching run has gone unsupported, which is a note of caution for next time; mid-field, took third 1f out, finished well.

found run of good form coming to a halt but wasn't seen to best effect, the damage done early; close up, not settle fully and forced wide, ridden 2f out, weakened final 1f; he could bounce back quickly and a 4-lb rise for his win last time is fair.

A less interesting race than it looked on paper, dominated by the winner and third after a steady early gallop, the second the only one to figure from behind.

MIRACLE WORKS defied a 6-lb rise to maintain an unbeaten start for this stable, having the run of things this time and just holding on, therefore likely to have to improve a bigger chunk if he's going to bring up the hat-trick; soon led, quickened 2f out, driven out.
