All 9 ran.

Winning Owner: Mr Gerry McGladery

Time: 1m 12.2s Closing Sectional: (2.00f): 23.30s (101.8%)

A decidedly useful handicap but not many of these have any secrets from the assessor, the jump forward taken by Merhoob enough to see him score in comprehensive fashion.

MERHOOB (IRE) is enjoying a productive all-weather campaign and proved better than ever as he recorded a ready succes; mid-field, effort 2f out, produced to lead entering final 1f, drew clear; likely to continue in form, but will probably require another career-best effort to follow-up.

EL HOMBRE after 7 weeks off, wasted no time getting back to the sort of form he was showing before the turn of the year; chased leader, every chance 1f out, kept on, no match for winner.

RAUCOUS again ran creditably; waited with, pushed along under 2f out, carried head bit awkwardly, kept on; likely to continue in form, but looks vulnerable to better-treated rivals.

RECKLESS ENDEAVOUR (IRE) without the headgear but ran to a similar level to last time, going about things in similar fashion as well, seems to be going through the motions; dwelt, in rear, late headway, never landed a blow.

SIR THOMAS GRESHAM (IRE) making handicap debut, didn't have the chance the market suggested having already shown his hand at a higher level, and ran as well as could be expected; led, headed entering final 1f, no extra.

ATLETICO (IRE) is operating below best at present; steadied at the start, waited with, kept on straight, not unduly punished, never a threat.

GULLIVER is better judged on previous form (split Merhoob and Raucous last time), things not going his way here; dwelt, mid-division, headway when denied a run 1f out, not recover, not persevered with once held.

REFLEKTOR (IRE) won corresponding event off similar mark when going through a hot spell last year, but ran poorly after 7 weeks off; handy, pushed along over 2f out, weakened.

GIOGIOBBO fared no better than previous starts for this yard and has barely beaten a rival since coming across from France; raced wide, mid-field, not settle fully, weakened from 2f out.
