has stepped up with each run for this yard, markedly so here, facing a stiff task but showing much improved form, justifying strong market support and relishing the longer trip; in touch, steady progress 3f out, headway on inner entering straight, stayed on to lead approaching last ½f, ridden out; this qualifies him for Finals day, a good chance that he can make his mark there, still low mileage and not out of the question that there is more to come.

ran well on form but made hard work of it, tapped for toe when the pace lifted, this tighter track perhaps also playing against him; prominent, pushed along and lost place back straight, close up again 3f out, carried wide entering straight but led soon after, headed approaching last ½f, kept on; he's borderline smart after just 5 appearances, and may unlock more still on a more galloping track.

easy to back, again ran below form, not having things go totally his way but it's perhaps the case that he's just not quite the same horse as last winter, a veteran now after all; close up, went with zest, bumped circuit out but led soon after, ran wide entering straight, headed soon after, no extra.

in first-time blinkers, underperformed; dwelt, raced off the pace, went prominent circuit out, weakened over 2f out; he'd be worth another go in a handicap, a mark of 94 still looking fair judged on what he achieved at Kempton.

was below form in the face of a stiff task; led until early on final circuit, weakened over 2f out; he should be suited by this trip and is worth another try at it in calmer waters.

All 6 ran.

Winning Owner: Mr John Stocker

Time: 3m 31.18s Closing Sectional: (2.00f): 24.20s (105.5%)

A stop-start gallop picked up far enough out to make for a decent test, the standard setter underperforming but Aircraft Carrier is credited with a significant chunk of improvement all the same.

AIRCRAFT CARRIER (IRE) has stepped up with each run for this yard, markedly so here, facing a stiff task but showing much improved form, justifying strong market support and relishing the longer trip; in touch, steady progress 3f out, headway on inner entering straight, stayed on to lead approaching last ½f, ridden out; this qualifies him for Finals day, a good chance that he can make his mark there, still low mileage and not out of the question that there is more to come.

FESTIVAL OF AGES (USA) ran well on form but made hard work of it, tapped for toe when the pace lifted, this tighter track perhaps also playing against him; prominent, pushed along and lost place back straight, close up again 3f out, carried wide entering straight but led soon after, headed approaching last ½f, kept on; he's borderline smart after just 5 appearances, and may unlock more still on a more galloping track.

WATERSMEET easy to back, again ran below form, not having things go totally his way but it's perhaps the case that he's just not quite the same horse as last winter, a veteran now after all; close up, went with zest, bumped circuit out but led soon after, ran wide entering straight, headed soon after, no extra.

ALFREDO (IRE) in first-time blinkers, underperformed; dwelt, raced off the pace, went prominent circuit out, weakened over 2f out; he'd be worth another go in a handicap, a mark of 94 still looking fair judged on what he achieved at Kempton.

ARCH MY BOY was below form in the face of a stiff task; led until early on final circuit, weakened over 2f out; he should be suited by this trip and is worth another try at it in calmer waters.

GOLDEN WOLF (IRE) in first-time tongue strap, clearly wasn't 100% on the day; in touch, pulled hard, dropped away over 4f out, eased off.
