back up in trip, didn't need to be at his best to record a first win for this yard down in grade, coming in for a more positive ride than his main rival in a race that tested speed more than stamina; never far away, smooth headway over 2f out, produced to lead over 1f out, quickened clear, edged left final 1f, won easily.

failed to build on the promise of his last run, though admittedly not ridden as close to the pace as the winner; waited with, smooth headway around 2f out, not quicken over 1f out, kept on.

got away on terms this time and ran about as well as could have been expected upped in grade after just 5 days off, albeit granted the run of the race; made running, closed down over 2f out, headed over 1f out, faded final 1f.

ran to a similar level as last time, just going through the motions, probably not the horse he once was, though this wasn't exactly a good set-up for coming from off the pace, never involved.

without the headgear this time, was too free back up in trip on first outing since leaving Adrian Wintle after 4 months off, but was way out of his depth in this company anyway; tracked pace, not settle fully, weakened over 2f out.

who'd had a breathing operation since last seen, ran no sort of race back on the all-weather on first outing since leaving Saeed Bin Suroor after 11 months off; raced off the pace, left behind 3f out: now has plenty to prove.

Something of a match on paper but nothing of the sort in reality, Hathal's speed counting for plenty in a steadily-run race, away and gone from Goring early in the straight.
