claimer ridden, proved better than ever as he resumed winning ways after 3 months off; raced off the pace, in touch over 3f out, headway entering straight, stayed on to lead over 1f out, ridden out; will continue to give a good account, particularly so on this surface.

ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before, well positioned the way this went but acquiting himself really well in a much stronger race than last time; tracked pace, had to wait for gap home turn, not clear run entering straight, every chance over 1f out, kept on; will remain of interest.

had winning run ended in pursuit of the 4-timer but continues in good heart, this at least as good as what he produced at Southwell; awkward leaving stalls, in touch, close up home turn, every chance early in straight, kept on; will continue to give a good account.

upped in trip, was gambled on on first outing since leaving Brian Meehan after 4 months off but wasn't seen to best effect; in touch, travelled well, short of room over 2f out, not clear run early in straight, kept on, not knocked about; still low mileage so may do better still, one to be interested in next time.

back up in trip, took a step back in the right direction, not ideally placed; slowly into stride, in rear, pushed along over 3f out, stayed on straight without being knocked about, never nearer and finished with running left; has been given a chance by the handicapper and is one to keep an eye on.

in first-time blinkers, ran below form though is best not judged on this, meeting trouble whilst the run of the race didn't favour him; close up, ridden when hampered entering straight, no further impression.

without the headgear this time and back up in trip, is best not judged on this run, though he at least went with a bit more spark this time; held up, headway when forced wide over 2f out, effort flattened out; not won for a long time but is on a handy enough mark nowadays if able to build on this.

A useful handicap, Haines proving better than ever to fend off a couple of bang in-form sorts, though a couple in behind weren't seen to best effect, matters becoming a little messy with the pace steady.

HAINES claimer ridden, proved better than ever as he resumed winning ways after 3 months off; raced off the pace, in touch over 3f out, headway entering straight, stayed on to lead over 1f out, ridden out; will continue to give a good account, particularly so on this surface.

BYRON FLYER ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before, well positioned the way this went but acquiting himself really well in a much stronger race than last time; tracked pace, had to wait for gap home turn, not clear run entering straight, every chance over 1f out, kept on; will remain of interest.

ISHARAH (USA) had winning run ended in pursuit of the 4-timer but continues in good heart, this at least as good as what he produced at Southwell; awkward leaving stalls, in touch, close up home turn, every chance early in straight, kept on; will continue to give a good account.

GAVLAR back in headgear after 9 weeks off, wasted no time getting back on track, despite not being ideally placed; raced off the pace, took strong hold, had to wait for gap over 2f out, kept on; not one to write off.

CALVINIST upped in trip, was gambled on on first outing since leaving Brian Meehan after 4 months off but wasn't seen to best effect; in touch, travelled well, short of room over 2f out, not clear run early in straight, kept on, not knocked about; still low mileage so may do better still, one to be interested in next time.

ENTIHAA back up in trip, took a step back in the right direction, not ideally placed; slowly into stride, in rear, pushed along over 3f out, stayed on straight without being knocked about, never nearer and finished with running left; has been given a chance by the handicapper and is one to keep an eye on.

PERCY VEER in first-time blinkers, ran below form though is best not judged on this, meeting trouble whilst the run of the race didn't favour him; close up, ridden when hampered entering straight, no further impression.

CASTILO DEL DIABLO (IRE) without the headgear this time and back up in trip, is best not judged on this run, though he at least went with a bit more spark this time; held up, headway when forced wide over 2f out, effort flattened out; not won for a long time but is on a handy enough mark nowadays if able to build on this.

TREASURE THE RIDGE (IRE) shaped as if needing the run on first outing since leaving Andrew Reid after 13 months off; mid-field, close up circuit out, forced wide over 2f out, weakened; next run should reveal more.

GANG WARFARE in a change of headgear, is yet to fire for this yard; looked none too keen, always behind; something to prove at present.
