showed improved form upped in trip to resume winning ways, given a patient ride and enjoying a clear run up the inside rail when making his move; slowly into stride, dropped out, still last early in straight, good headway over 1f out, stayed on to lead inside final 50 yds.

was well backed after 10 months off and ran creditably, looking set to score when taking it up (matched at 1.20 in running) before perhaps just found out by the lack of recent run; prominent, travelled well, produced to lead 1f out, headed final 50 yds; not many miles on the clock and has some strong form (Doncaster win worked out well) so sure to go close again.

last seen 10 weeks earlier for David O'Meara, was upped in trip and again shaped better than the bare result; travelled as well as any in mid-division, briefly hampered early in straight, edged left inside final 1f, kept on; still looks on a handy mark and one to be interested in for similar events.

had no easy task under a 6 lb penalty for his win at Chelmsford just 4 days earlier and, after again getting the run of things from the front, ran as well as could be expected; took strong hold, led after 1f, shaken up over 2f out, hung right home turn and looked awkward early in straight, headed 1f out, no extra.

after just 4 days off, was ridden more prominently than at Chelmsford but fared little better; disputed lead early, chased leader until 2f out, weakening when short of room inside final 1f.

A useful handicap, though the gallop was somewhat muddling, most still in with a shout entering the final 1f, the winner bagging the far rail and getting up late on.

INTRUDE showed improved form upped in trip to resume winning ways, given a patient ride and enjoying a clear run up the inside rail when making his move; slowly into stride, dropped out, still last early in straight, good headway over 1f out, stayed on to lead inside final 50 yds.
