proved a different proposition, possibly just transformed by first-time blinkers and a strong pace, though it remains to be seen how repeatable this proves; hampered start, raced off the pace, headway when switched over 2f out, led approaching final 1f, forged clear.

clearly ran better than just 5 days earlier but looked rather ungainly to say he's already won twice this year, connections having reached for cheekpieces the time before; led until joined approaching straight, driven soon after, carried head awkwardly, left behind by winner final 1f.

has been handed a stiff-looking mark but made a better fist of defying it than the final outcome might imply, notwithstanding he promised more than he delivered after putting it up to the runner-up; pressed leader, loomed up halfway, driven under 2f out, edged left, folded.

proved a let-down, her juvenile form hardly suggesting the return to turf was the main cause, instead possibly amiss; in touch, travelled as well as any, effort when hung left 2f out, beaten when eased final 1f.

The betting spoke of a far more open handicap that it proved, the winner seemingly much improved but the feeling left of a strongly-run race that fell apart around him as he came from last to first before bursting clear.

SALVUCCIO proved a different proposition, possibly just transformed by first-time blinkers and a strong pace, though it remains to be seen how repeatable this proves; hampered start, raced off the pace, headway when switched over 2f out, led approaching final 1f, forged clear.

JIMMY SPEAKING clearly ran better than just 5 days earlier but looked rather ungainly to say he's already won twice this year, connections having reached for cheekpieces the time before; led until joined approaching straight, driven soon after, carried head awkwardly, left behind by winner final 1f.
