turned out again quickly, has been more interesting on the all-weather for the last few years but his mark reflects that and, having failed to make any impact in a couple of large-field turf handicaps previously this season, seemingly benefited from the return to a less rarefied environment, edging home in a tight finish; mid-field, ridden 2f out, headway under pressure approaching final 1f, stayed on to lead final 50 yds.

had been off for 6 weeks since shaping well at Chelmsford and, though never a factor back on turf, it'd probably be wrong to forget that effort too quickly, especially as 5f under fast conditions here probably places the emphasis more on speed than is ideal; in rear, ridden halfway, never on terms.

Probably no more than a reasonably well-contested handicap by 0-95 standards, the first 5 home separated by less than a length at the end of a fairly-run race which didn't seem to favour any particular tactics.

ROYAL BIRTH turned out again quickly, has been more interesting on the all-weather for the last few years but his mark reflects that and, having failed to make any impact in a couple of large-field turf handicaps previously this season, seemingly benefited from the return to a less rarefied environment, edging home in a tight finish; mid-field, ridden 2f out, headway under pressure approaching final 1f, stayed on to lead final 50 yds.

MOONRAKER had done next to nothing on turf since making a successful debut for this yard at the start of last season but showed he can't necessarily be dismissed out of hand from a much lower mark; raced off the pace, headway under pressure under 2f out, stayed on.

JUMIRA BRIDGE made a bold attempt to follow up from Sandown off a 4 lb higher mark, especially as this came only 10 days on; patiently ridden, headway from 2f out, every chance entering final 1f, not quicken final 50 yds.
