would seem to be a reformed character and showed improved form to follow up his Bath win, doing nothing wrong again and best judged on these 2 efforts rather than on any temperament he showed last year; held up, travelled well, good headway over 2f out, led 1f out, ridden out.

strong in the betting, ran well in a race a notch below the contests he'd run in previously this spring, despite getting run off his feet for a long way over a 1f shorter trip; outpaced, headway 2f out, short of room 1f out, kept on close home.

in first-time cheekpieces, again ran up to his best, more handily positioned this time, on a fair enough mark for ordinary races; tracked pace, led over 2f out, ridden soon after, headed inside final 1f, no extra close home.

ran creditably, quickly back on song in a lesser race than last time, showing his form on turf for the first time, the drop back to 5f a little bit of a shock to him initially; in touch, off bridle early, headway going better 2f out, ridden over 1f out, edged left, one paced.

was well held in first-time hood after 9 months off, though she showed plenty of her customary speed and will surely last longer next time; led, raced freely, shaken up over 2f out, headed, weakened final 1f.

Fairly useful form from the principals and a tight finish, but neither a deep contest nor an obviously interesting race in the wider scheme of things.

DARK SHADOW (IRE) would seem to be a reformed character and showed improved form to follow up his Bath win, doing nothing wrong again and best judged on these 2 efforts rather than on any temperament he showed last year; held up, travelled well, good headway over 2f out, led 1f out, ridden out.

THEGREATESTSHOWMAN in first-time cheekpieces, again ran up to his best, more handily positioned this time, on a fair enough mark for ordinary races; tracked pace, led over 2f out, ridden soon after, headed inside final 1f, no extra close home.

UNCLE JERRY ran creditably, quickly back on song in a lesser race than last time, showing his form on turf for the first time, the drop back to 5f a little bit of a shock to him initially; in touch, off bridle early, headway going better 2f out, ridden over 1f out, edged left, one paced.
