showed much improved form from out of the blue to get off the mark, ridden by a good-value claimer but perhaps also suited by sticking to the stand-side rail; close up, pushed along over 2f out, led over 1f out, kept on; balance of form means he isn't an obvious type to follow up.

back on turf after 11 weeks off, has given the assessor plenty to go on but ran well making debut in this sphere, proving his effectiveness on turf; waited with, pushed along before halfway, headway under pressure over 2f out, every chance over 1f out, left behind by winner final 1f; looks worth another try at 7f on this evidence.

beat a next-time-out winner over this C&D last time but proved slightly disappointing making handicap debut, excuses hard to come by; slowly into stride but soon in touch, went prominent before halfway, ridden under 3f out, weakened final 1f.

again ran creditably but this just underlines he needs respite from the handicapper; prominent, led before halfway, headed over 1f out, one paced.

All 6 ran.

Winning Owner: Mr Richard J. Gurr

Time: 1m 12.28s Closing Sectional: (3.38f): 40.60s (99.5%)

A fairly useful 3-y-o handicap, but the short-priced favourite was disappointing and the suspicion is that the winner was seen to maximum effect under the stand-side rail, so it's not form to go overboard about.

KIMIFIVE (IRE) showed much improved form from out of the blue to get off the mark, ridden by a good-value claimer but perhaps also suited by sticking to the stand-side rail; close up, pushed along over 2f out, led over 1f out, kept on; balance of form means he isn't an obvious type to follow up.

BUFFER ZONE beat a next-time-out winner over this C&D last time but proved slightly disappointing making handicap debut, excuses hard to come by; slowly into stride but soon in touch, went prominent before halfway, ridden under 3f out, weakened final 1f.

CHAGATAI (IRE) again ran creditably but this just underlines he needs respite from the handicapper; prominent, led before halfway, headed over 1f out, one paced.
