hails from a yard in rude health and confirmed his return to form with a follow-up success, though he wouldn't be sure to beat the runner-up again off similar terms; dictated, jumped soundly in main, joined eighth, pressed on from 5 out, looked in trouble when joined again 2 out, outjumped runner-up at last, all out to hold on.

ended up running creditably on form but made very hard work of things and looks worth trying in headgear on this evidence; close up early, lost place after seventh, went badly in snatches and behind from circuit out, rallied briefly early in straight, plugged on.

A close finish between 2 last-time-out winners, though the order would surely have been reversed had the runner-up jumped the last 2 fences more fluently; the pace was quite good given the number of runners.
