took another step forward to go one better than on last 2 starts, seeing things out really well having pressed on with the fourth from 4 out; disputed lead, slow second, shaken up 4 out, edged ahead approaching 2 out, asserted before last, stayed on well; he should continue to go well granted this sort of test.

backed up his win here last month in a deeper race and tried in a tongue tie, shaping second best for most of the way, getting very tired late on having been clear with the winner for most of the straight; disputed lead, travelled smoothly, not fluent 4 out, upsides again next, untidy 2 out, beaten when awkward last, folded.
