gambled on making chasing debut after 10 months off, took to it really well and looked the proverbial graded horse in a handicap, some training performance given his last significant piece of form came over 3 and a half years ago; mid-field, jumped well, travelled strongly, went prominent eleventh, jumped on 4 out, quickened clear after 3 out, in command approaching last, just pushed out for impressive victory; he'll be interesting wherever he shows up next (open to improvement), provided he comes out of this alright.

again shaped well, lacking the winner's gears despite being up in trip but not knocked about once his chance had gone; mid-field, shaken up after 5 out, not quicken after 3 out, stayed on but made no impression on winner, not unduly punished; he remains open to improvement, looking a banker for a novice/maiden chase but probably on a good mark as well.

got back on track, completing for the first time this season behind a couple of good ones, though he again wasn't foot perfect; held up, headway 5 out, awkward 3 out, faded.

back up in trip, was easy to back but showed a lot more than on chasing debut after 11 months off; prominent, raced freely, awkward third, left in front seventh, headed after 5 out, weakened after 3 out; this run should take the freshness out of her and she's entitled to progress.

on chasing debut, failed to complete again but is best not judged on this run overall; raced off the pace, badly hampered seventh, left behind after 5 out; an ex-pointer, he's obviously capable of better in this sphere.

a useful hurdler who'd not been seen for nearly 3 years (formerly with Nicky Henderson), was easy to back and shaped as if better for the run on chasing debut before being carried out (capable of better); mid-field, took strong hold, hampered seventh, lost place 5 out, held when carried out before 3 out.

A cracking midweek novice handicap and the front pair are both chasers to follow.
