back over hurdles, was probably flattered by the full extent of this apparent career best, ridden by a tidy 10-lb claimer for one but also at a major advantage the way it panned out under unpleasant conditions; chased leader, upsides circuit out, jumped on 3 out, closed down soon after, shaken up from 2 out, found extra, very much had the run of the race; one to take on next time.

in a change of headgear, turned in his best effort of the season but remains one to oppose due to his poor strike-rate; tracked pace on inner, lost ground over circuit out, effort again end of back straight, plugged on, took second last, left behind by winner run-in.

belatedly proved he retains ability, deserving a little extra credit if anything; patiently ridden, progress after 3 out, chased leader straight, ridden still 2 out, effort flattened out, best of those held up.

shaped as if still in good form, still in place contention when departing despite having possibly been unsuited by such gruelling conditions; patiently ridden, good progress from 3 out, fourth when ridden home turn, keeping on alongside then-third Masters Hill when fell 2 out; wouldn't want turning out quickly but remains with plenty of potential, as such well worth another chance.

turned in a rare poor effort, which probably says a lot about the state of this ground considering he's a multiple winner on soft/heavy; dropped out, not settle fully, lost touch back straight.

back on very testing ground, had his winning run ended but forgiveness comes easier when conditions are this extreme; not jump well, led until joined circuit out, faltered soon after 3 out.

Only a mid-range trip but still conditions took their toll, with 4 of them out of it well before the favourite capsized 2 out as one of the 2 who'd got clear around halfway managed to keep up the gallop to make the most of that tactical edge, the form almost certainly weak and muddling.
