justified good support in winning for the first time in over 3 years, a switch to more prominent tactics than of late working well given how this race panned out; disputed lead, jumped accurately, took over fifth, joined home turn, asserted run-in; he's not an obvious one to follow up.

was having a rare run back over fences and ran well in a change of headgear after 4 months off; in touch, went second end of back straight, every chance from home turn, still upsides when awkward last, not recover.

was back down to the same mark as when winning this race last year but a repeat never looked on the cards, turning in a second successive lacklustre display; mid-division, took keen hold, challenged briefly home turn, not sustain effort.
