proved better than ever and resumed winning ways under a positive ride; disputed lead, jumped soundly in main, went with zest, went on fourth, kicked on entering straight, in command from 3 out, kept up to work; a consistent sort, he should continue to give a good account.

easy to back, ran creditably despite not being subjected to an overly hard ride on handicap chase debut after 11 months off; mid-field, travelled fluently, shaken up from 3 out, kept on from last; he's entitled to be sharper for this outing and looks one to bear in mind from what looks an attractive mark based on his hurdling form.

A well-run handicap that was won in good style by the front-running Ecu de la Noverie, who could be called the winner some way out in a race in which several of the others were returning from lengthy absences.
