proved better than ever as he resumed winning ways back down in trip, the combination of first-time cheekpieces and a return to front-running tactics yielding a much more fluent display of jumping than on his last 2 starts; made all, pressed on back straight, dug deep.

might have had his winning run ended but still emerged with plenty of credit (fared best of those held up) and could well represent some each-way value in valuable company over the coming weeks; patiently ridden (not fluent early), still plenty to do 4 out, stayed on strongly from home turn.

possibly needed the run after a further 4 months off (easy to back) and certainly isn't one to write off just yet, particularly with the Cheltenham Festival just around the corner (has an excellent record at the track); waited with, left behind from end of back straight (not persevered with once held).

A fiercely-contested valuable handicap featuring plenty of regulars in such company and it appeals as strong form; the pace was essentially a good one, albeit steadying briefly around halfway, though the first 2 dominated virtually throughout.

TWO FOR GOLD (IRE) proved better than ever as he resumed winning ways back down in trip, the combination of first-time cheekpieces and a return to front-running tactics yielding a much more fluent display of jumping than on his last 2 starts; made all, pressed on back straight, dug deep.

ANOTHER CRICK fitter for comeback, ran well back over fences after a further 10 weeks off and should remain competitive; mid-division, travelled well, mistake eleventh, challenged home turn, switched run-in, kept on.

SMARTY WILD probably remains in form, a big mid-race move seeming to count against him here rather than his inexperience jumping; held up, untidy third, rapid headway out wide around halfway, one paced from home turn.
