is clearly back at the top of his game and, refitted with a tongue strap, resumed winning ways for the first time since his chasing debut; held up, blundered first (largely very fluent again otherwise), smooth headway back straight, challenged from 2 out, forced to switch run-in, kept on well, asserted close home; likely to continue in form.

ran well upped in trip and arguably should have won, shaping like the best at the weights for most of the way; mid-division, not always fluent, mistake thirteenth, went handy soon after, pressed on from 5 out, took over 3 out and briefly looked in control, driven run-in, kept on but headed close home (possibly made move shade too soon); may yet do better and should remain competitive off this sort of mark.

continues in good heart and fixes the level of this form; prominent, outpaced briefly 4 out, rallied well from home turn, kept on gamely, would have benefited from the emphasis being more on stamina; reliable.

shaped better than the distance beaten suggests but, in many ways, it was a carbon copy of his last run 5 months earlier, with lack of fitness or stamina (or neither!) possibly coming into play late on; made running, jumped soundly in main, pressed on from 5 out, headed when mistake 3 out, folded from early in straight; potentially well handicapped now but, in truth, it's probably no coincidence he's proved expensive to follow of late.

wasn't seen to best effect after 9 weeks off and can have this run ignored; mid-division, badly hampered fourth, shuffled back over circuit out, left poorly placed and never landed a blow from back straight, though not given at all a hard time.

A useful staying handicap and it produced an exciting finish, but the form may not prove entirely reliable, with a stop-start gallop probably counting against a few - indeed, the race didn't begin in earnest until a sharp injection of pace 5 out.

KILFINICHEN BAY (IRE) is clearly back at the top of his game and, refitted with a tongue strap, resumed winning ways for the first time since his chasing debut; held up, blundered first (largely very fluent again otherwise), smooth headway back straight, challenged from 2 out, forced to switch run-in, kept on well, asserted close home; likely to continue in form.

SILVER MAN continues in good heart and fixes the level of this form; prominent, outpaced briefly 4 out, rallied well from home turn, kept on gamely, would have benefited from the emphasis being more on stamina; reliable.

GARRAHALISH (IRE) shaped better than the distance beaten suggests but, in many ways, it was a carbon copy of his last run 5 months earlier, with lack of fitness or stamina (or neither!) possibly coming into play late on; made running, jumped soundly in main, pressed on from 5 out, headed when mistake 3 out, folded from early in straight; potentially well handicapped now but, in truth, it's probably no coincidence he's proved expensive to follow of late.

PAIR OF JACKS (IRE) again ran below form and had no real excuses on this occasion; waited with, headway back straight, blundered 3 out, soon done with, never landed a serious blow.

HANDY ANDY (IRE) was below form back over fences after 12 weeks off; handy, lost place when mistakes back straight, dropped away from 3 out; difficult to assess at present.

SCHINDLER'S PRINCE (IRE) faced a stiff task from out of the handicap but still ran below form and it's possible his recent busy spell may be catching up with him now; mid-division, mistake 5 out, lost touch soon after, held when blundered 2 out.
