can't have been right on his last 2 starts and, all the better for a 6-week break, resumed progress/winning ways, proving himself a useful novice; patiently ridden, good progress 3 out, led soon after next, asserted before last, responded well; he'll stay 2½m and is sure to go well again.

better than the result in a gruelling Imperial Cup when last seen, wasted no time getting back on track and looks well up to winning more races over jumps, especially when the emphasis is a bit more on speed; handy, travelled fluently, led after 3 out, ridden when untidy next, headed soon after, no extra run-in.

well backed back down in trip, wasn't seen to best effect, going too hard early having again taken a bit of a grip; raced clear, reduced advantage before fourth, shaken up 3 out, headed soon after, weakened early in straight; he's the sort who'll make a better chaser next season.
