resumed winning ways back up in trip, his jumping looking more assured back around a left-handed track, though must be remembered that this turned out to be a weak race for the grade; untidy first, led fourth, travelled strongly, drew clear between 3 out and 2 out, kept on well, won readily; he's a likeable sort, consistent on the whole, but will be hit by the handicapper and is likely to find life tougher next time.

All 9 ran. Fences: 17.

Winning Owner: Mr John Heron

Time: 5m 19.4s Closing Sectional: (3.80f): 61.10s (96.9%)

Few arrived in top form and the favourite departed early, so this isn't a strong race for the grade, the field thinning out markedly down the back straight; the winner made all at a good gallop.

SEVENTH SKY (GER) resumed winning ways back up in trip, his jumping looking more assured back around a left-handed track, though must be remembered that this turned out to be a weak race for the grade; untidy first, led fourth, travelled strongly, drew clear between 3 out and 2 out, kept on well, won readily; he's a likeable sort, consistent on the whole, but will be hit by the handicapper and is likely to find life tougher next time.

NO BUTS without the headgear this time, was well backed but ran no more than creditably; tracked pace, travelled better than most, mistake 5 out, ridden after 3 out, stayed on, no match for winner.

BENEFIT CUT (IRE) in first-time hood (added to tongue strap), possibly still needed this run, shaping a bit better than the distance beaten suggests; held up, headway tenth, ridden 4 out, held when mistake 2 out (not his only error), plugged on.

MWALESHI back over fences, ran below form; led until fourth, remained prominent, jumped right, pushed along before 3 out, weakened next.

MIDNIGHT BELLE shaped a bit better than distance beaten suggests; in rear, headway tenth, mistake next, struggling approaching 5 out, weakened soon after.

DRUMSHAMBO (USA) back down in trip, was well held in first-time blinkers, hasn't built on the better signs shown at Ludlow last month; held up, headway circuit out, pushed along before eleventh, lost place soon after.

CICERON (IRE) offered little on first outing since leaving Venetia Williams after 22 months off; raced off the pace, off the bridle before most, mistake ninth, soon beaten.

FOUNDATION MAN (IRE) ran no sort of race in first-time cheekpieces after 4 months off; prominent, lost place tenth, soon beaten.

HORIZONTAL SPEED (IRE) ran a cracker at Cheltenham but didn't get very far here, falling at the second.
