was strong in the betting and created an excellent impression in making a winning start over fences after 9 months off, surpassing his hurdles form straight away; chased leader, took keen hold, jumped right fifth, not fluent 4 out (generally fluent otherwise), led soon after 3 out, shaken up after next, around 2 lengths up and looking like increasing his advantage further when left clear soon after last, edged left run-in, pushed out; better to come and looks a chaser to follow.

was taking on better company from just out of the weights but still managed to improve a little on the form of her Sedgefield chasing debut win 7 weeks earlier, for all that she was fortunate to finish second; held up, shaken up soon after 2 out, kept on gradually, took second near finish; will benefit from a return to at least 2¾m and is open to further improvement.

had swatted aside a subsequent winner in fine style at Bangor and shaped as if still on a good mark following a 9 lb rise, even if he looked booked for second at the time of his late blunder; waited with, took closer order 5 out, went second 2 out, shaken up soon after, around 2 lengths down and looked held when bad mistake last, not recover; remains open to improvement and there's certainly more races to be won with him over fences.

had the headgear left off this time but fared no better back down in trip after 7 weeks off; made running, pushed along briefly early final circuit, booted into seventh, headed soon after 3 out, weakened from next; plenty to prove at present.

was let down by his jumping contesting his first handicap in this sphere, a step back up to 3m well worth exploring now; waited with, not fluent second, awkward seventh, lost ground soon after, clouted 4 out, held 2 out.

An interesting race of its type despite the small field, Jingko Blue producing a smart effort on his chasing debut, increasing his advantage all the while when Jagwar met the last all wrong.
